Description The accelerating voltage for the cathode-ray tube is provided by a high
voltage power supply. The current in the electron beam is controlled by applying a voltage to
the intensity control grid of the cathode- ray tube. A variable and reversible current is supplied
to the solenoid. The cathode-ray tube is placed in the center of the solenoid so that the axis of
the tube and solenoid are coincident.
